Taxis is a metered based public transportation which available around KL Airport. All taxi will bring you to your destination and the fare is fixed as per destination, type of vehicle and the budget or premier or family and limousine. For budget taxi, the seat is only available for 3-4 passengers and inconveniently for luggage. For premier taxi, is for 4-5 passengers and family van can fit around 8 passengers. Basically, budget taxi car model is such as Deawoo Tacuma or Proton Wira which only fits 3-4 passengers and hand carry luggage. For Premier, usually will use Renault Enviro or Mercedes E220 which can fit up to 4 passengers. For family van, they will usually use Kia Pregio Van or Hiace. All of this taxi is depending on current availability. Bare in mind, taxis arrival is subject to current traffic and congestion.

If not, we recommended you to find another one. The rate for standard taxi is RM 2 for the first kilometre and 10 cents will be charged for each 200 meters according to the meter. If you suspect the meter have been tampered or the taxi driver charged you not according to the standard, you are asked to call the toll-free hotline at 1 800 88 9600 to lodge a complaint to authorities. Jot down the plate number, registration number, the place and time you are pick up and drop off for future investigation. The rate of each taxi is different for example, Budget Taxi worth RM 80 from the airport to the city while Premier one is RM 110 and Family Van cost RM 220. All of this price is subject to change and destination. If you are going to Genting Highland, the fare for Budget Taxi is RM 205, Premier is RM 270 and Family Van is RM 620. These prices are subject to 50% premium when departing between midnight and 6 a.m.
Most of the time, taxi service is operated by Airport Limo (M) Sdn Bhd. They provide taxi and limo services at KLIA and operate through a coupon system that you can purchase at Airport Limo counters located at; International Arrival Hall (just after customs, before the public arrival area), Domestic Arrival Hall (public area after the Domestic Baggage Clearance) and at the Domestic Baggage Reclaim at the Arrival Level. If you ever being approached by taxi tout in the arrival hall, kindly ignore them as they are unlicensed taxi operators which hang around the airport, usually will charge you slightly higher price than others as well as not having licensed vehicles and without sufficient insurance. You are reminded not to use these touts. If these unlicensed cab operators continue to harass you, you are encouraged to lodge a police report in the are or the airport information centre.
